Posted by The-EXP - January 8th, 2008

Hi everyone, just thought I'd let ou all know that my latest game (one set in the IndestructoTank universe) is currently on Armor Games
The game is to be released here on Newgrounds tommorrow (wednesday 9th) so it'd be great if you could give it some testing time before general NG release.
Hope you have fun, and comments appreciated (especially bug reports :p)

Hey everyone, first off I'd like to thank everyone who voted in the Monthly Newgrounds votes for Indestruc2Tank and helped it earn first place in the Games Catagory :D
Secondly a few weeks back I announced a mini conest for Level design in my game Cattlepult - I'd like to say thanks for all of the entries, as most were truly excellent puzzles - but I've picked a Winner for the $100 - His name is Dylan Shanahan, and I'll be emailing him later to get his Paypal details. If you want to drop him a congrats, just incase he doesn't see this post, his UserName is tiger515220022.

I'd like to givea big thanks to Armor Games for providing the money and all the users who got involved. I'll be releasing the players pack for Cattlepult in a few days so you can play through the best levels that were submitted to the contest. Its always nice to get the users involved, So I'm glad so many of you responded well.

Cheers

Thats right, check the portal for my latest game, CattlePult!
Included in it is a level editor - and i want to see the best you guys can come up with!
Courtesy of Armor Games, I'm offering $100 to the best level made (see rules below)

Rules for Entry into Official Cattlepult Competition.
Practice before you submit! I will only be accepting 2 entries from each email address.
All entries must be submitted before December 10th.
On december 15th, the 10 best maps will be included in a release of CattlePult known as CattlePult: Players Puzzle Pack, or shortened to "CattlePult PPP"

Of these 10 maps, I will choose my personal favourite, and the Author of this map will receive $100 via paypal courtesy of Armor Games.

I reserve the right to use my discretion in investigating cheaters/copiers, and may ammend or add to these rules at any time

-Antony

I will be choosing the best level based on on the following criteria.
Difficulty - Maps must be able to be solved in at least one way, and with a puzzling combination of aiming, Bouncers and Chilli Boosters.
The more puzzling, the better.
Size - While the size of the map isn't important, clever use of the whole 15 by 15 grid is recommended.
Complexity - Masterful use of the bouncers and chilli's will be taken note of.

Although a possibility, the chance of two levels in a 15 by 15 grid being the same are minute. Therefore, if two levels with more than a passing resemblance are submitted, the person who submitted their entry first will be give priority in the Prize giving.

No member of Armor Games or Newgrounds staff may participate, although I'd still love to play any levels they make :)

By submitting a level, you are giving permission for the use of the level in a future CattlePult game. If chosen for the CattlePult PPP, you will be given credit for the level design in it's credits section.

To submit:
Email your level code, a brief walkthrough of how to beat the level, your Full Name, age and location, a well as a contact email (if it is different to the one you are using)
to Tony@ArmorGames.com before December 10th. The winner and 9 other maps to be used in the Cattlepult PPP will be announced December 12th.

Good Luck, and hope you enjoy the game!

The game is live on the Armor Games homepage for the next few days as part of a trial to Beta test it.
I've spent a huge ammount of time on it and would love you to play!

Also I'd really appreciate if you DIGG the game, as it helps me out as a developer to get it as well known as possible.

Here's the DIGG link!

It will be added to NG in the next few days! Remember to vote 5 when it is :D

Here follows a sneak peak at one of the "Codec Style" Conversations that take place in Adventure Mode in Indestruc2Tank, as part of a cheesy ongoing tribute to Metal Gear :p

Hope you like it, and any suggestions please feel free to comment.

Oh, and theres still a major Character needing a voice, so if you or anyone you know is a decent female voice actress, please PM me.

Thanks :)

Oh, PS, the entire thing is animated /lip sync'd / organised in Actionscript.

Coming Very Soon :)

INDESTRUC2TANK

Posted by The-EXP - August 2nd, 2007

Whats up, my homies?

Here's another entry of what I'm up to at the moment, badgering away at a few titles.

First, I'm working on my Wiggi Contest entry, a puzzle platformer designed to teach problem solving skills as well as web awareness). So far the games I've seen havent really ticked the boxes of what's required - Thats not to say that I don't think any efforts been put in, I can tell people are working really hard. However, my entry is going to have a tonne of pollish, It's got extremely tight code, is great fun to play for both young kids AND the users of newgrounds (there will be a set of levels for kids and a set of levels for you guys) and I think its owed to the makers of WggiWorld that alot of time and effort be spent on it, cause what they are doing is a really great thing for kids on the net - so stay tuned for my release, coming soon, and vote 5 :p

Second , as ever, work on Indestruc2Tank continues, its going strong and I'm happy with the way its shaping up. Just t tease those of you waiting for it, I've settled on the final design plan.
There will be 4 game modes, and they are as follows:

Classic Mode - A clone of the original Indestructotank, only with rocking hand drawn graphics.

Enhanced Mode - you asked and I listened - this is Indestructotank with as many of the different suggestions you guys offered in as possible (as long as they didn't conflict with each other and weren't utterly ridiculous)

Adventure Mode - This is the mode I'm most excited about - thats right, there will be 3 Levels in different locations, with a fully fledged storyline, all acted out by voice actors of the highest quality, taking place between levels in Metal Gear Style Codec moments. Not only that, but at the end of each stage, there will be a BOSS BATTLE! Rock, Rock on. I'm hoping you guys will have lots of fun with this.

And Multiplayer Mode, where you and a friend can compete on the same screen for combos galore and ultimate bragging rights. Sadly, I don't have the technical expertise to make this online multiplayer, but instead will share the same keyboard (I'm thinking one player using the arrow keys and the other person using A and D.

What do you guys think? I'm still taking suggestions and I'm making note of everyone's who I use to give them a little slot in the credits of the game. So please, leave a comment on this blog post of any of your imaginations workings, and I'll do my best!

Thats all for now, I'll make another post soon. Oh and tell your friends who are interested to read and comment too..It'll be cool to have an output for my thoughts on my projects..

On a closing note, thanks for the great reception ONGAKU recieved, I'm well chuffed to have won first place, and all the great feedback and reviews have really meant alot to me. Thanks go to Dan Mcneely and everyrone at Armor Games, Tom and everyone at Newgrounds, and to Zuby, who was who I worked with on the project..

Speak to you soon - Antony, of The-EXP

Hello, The-EXP here, or, more accurately, Antony of The-EXP. I've never kept a blog before because I've never felt attached to any of the sites which host those of the public type, but of course, Newgrounds is practically my home on the web, so I thought I might bore you guys a litte with prattlings of what I'm up to, but first, a little explaining about this user account.
The-EXP is a shared acount between me and my main man Matt Humphreys, I'm the one who makes the games, which s about 90 percent of our submissions here to Newgrounds. Matt on the other hand, rarely blesses us with his far out movie style, so you should be god damned thankful when he does, check them out.

Right now, my plans for the near future regarding newgrounds and the flash community are as follows:
Indestructotank 2, which probbaly needs no introduction thanks to its predecessor, which I've fondly named "Indestruc2Tank" because of my love of cheesey names.
My other project is an open source platform game engine for flash, which I'm working hard on getting tonnes of cool features in to help all of those who have the artist streak and imagination to make a game, but lack scripting skills - I'll be releasing a .fla file of the first version soon - and make no mistake, this won't be one of those half arsed platfor game engines you see flying around the web - tis thing is going to be feature rich, efficient, and easy to use for anyone who knows the very basics of flash. I'd love to hear what you think of this idea.

Well, I'm planning on keeping this blog thing up to date, and a great shoutout to Tom for the awesome new site design.

Thanks for reading, now go play some games :)
