The-EXP's News

Posted by The-EXP - May 27th, 2009

Just kidding, it's just one song. But it's SO GOOD that we could just release an album of just this song 12 times and people would still give it rave reviews.

It's the ending theme from SHIFT 4, which I decided I liked so much thanks to Egoraptor , Oney and Ciyfox that I thought everyone should hear the fruits of their efforts. So enjoy our SHAFT parody! And play SHIFT 4, it even runs without lag now, in the widescreen layout!

Also if you don't want me to starve to death over this coming winter, you could do alot worse than checking out SHIFT for iPhone! for all you apple addicts out there :)

Tony out!

Sadly it won't make the bus smell any better, but Shift has finally made it's transistion to a none Flash platform - Two versions, a "lite" and a full version.
To call it a lite version is a bit misguided though, it's as long as the original Flash game, so pretty substantial for a demo version.
Then if you really like it you can buy the full version, which contains 25 additional levels made for the iPhone version for 99 cents. Which makes it a great little time waster. Only you won't feel like you've wasted your time, because it's excellent.
Also I think today would be a good day to finish Shift 4.

You can download it right here: i-SHIFT Lite

And the full version right here: i-Shift Full version

Full details at www.armorblog.com!

So everyone with an iPhone or iPod touch, give it a whirl, it won't cost you anything...

Play Shift on iPhone, make bus journeys more fun.

Sorry again for the delay on Shift 4, but Armor has been in talks with the largest RPG maker fansite on the net, and porting it from SwfMax to its exclusive RPG Maker XP release s taking a bit of extra time... here's a screenie.
I know it sucks that I won't get to release it on NG, but I'll keep you guys updated and post a link to the few download files (PC ONLY!) when it's done!
Ciao for now!

SHIFT 4 Preview

Posted by The-EXP - March 13th, 2009

Hey guys, quick update.
Shift 4 has been eeever so slightly delayed again (when I said before Christmas I meant Xmas 09 :p)
But worry not, it's for a good cause and things are till progressing nicely.

The engine is 99 percent done and the world is half built, so it will actually be a very short time of development work left to finish it.
The music this time round is being done by Chris O'Neill, a pretty much unknown Artist hre on NG, I don't think he's done
Anything you'd have seen.
The music is amazing and I think he'll be posting it to the audio portal soonish so you can get your fill of quite possibly, the best game theme EVAR.

Here is a video of him running into a locker in slow motion.

/* */
You can forgive him though, he's Irish.

Congratulations to the winners, who I won't mention in case you haven't seen the Award Video yet,.

Both of the winners I've either spent a bit of time in contact with either stealing characters from for extras in my games or meeting in London. And both seem sharp...

Personally I'm surprised Chronotron didn't make the short list, it being my personal choice, but I guess thats why they didn't pick me as a judge...

Always next year for me though, I guess I'll have to come up with something.

And to be honest I'm brutally dissapointed Tentadrill didn't take home the trophy...
I enjoyed the awards video but a frontpage post to accompany it would be nice, my wife only saw it in the portal by chance. Nice production values too.

Just thought I'd let you know.
More details and picture at THIS LINK RIGHT HERE, I'd do an individual post, but I'm being told to "Get off Newgrounds and get your suit on."

Some people sure do have their priorities wrong...

Also Shift 4 once I get back from my honeymoon, Dawgs.

Update: All went well, thanks for replies :D

Shit is huge, there must be at least 60 people here, I'm not counting. Seems hearing the NG staff are in attendance draws the crowds. Here's a pic!

The pic does it no justice.

Posting Live from the NG london meet.

Just thought I'd announce Drastic Plastic, mine and Dim SuperFlashBros's rockem sockem style button basher just submitted to the portal... Have Fun!
Also just noticed the castle crashers in the NG store, I'll have to pick up a set pretty soon. I'm tempted to get the multipack, but I hear there's connection troubles whenever you try and put more than a few together. OHHH BURN!
I'm just kidding, I've only ever played local multiplayer with my girllfriend anyway, and it rocks socks...

Only BomToons should click here.
Coolio should instead give me the source code to this so I can make my own sequel...

A Game where robots just whale on each other ALL DAY LONG?

That's right. It's so good that every word of the blog title became capitolised.

While At ComicCon this summer, I purchased a blue Castle Crasher figurine, and collected a few signatures from people active in the Flash community.
You can have a little flash tour of the lil guy here.
Castle Crasher Autographs

Signatures currently are

Tom Fulp
Dan Paladin
Dim and Tom of The Super Flash Bros.
EgoRaptor (Who officially announced this as the smallest Metal Gear Awesome sketch he had ever drawn.)
JMTB02 (Who took TWO MONTHS to mail this bad boy back to me after I lent it to him for him to sign. :p)
Daniel Mcneely
Ido Tal of WeCreateStuff (Who made his extra extra small
RubberNinja (Again, officially smallest Farkas sketch ever)
EggfordTheEgg ( I asked him what now, he said THE WORLD)
Bob (although he can't be seen in the tour, because he insisted he should only sign the base of the foot so it couldnt be seen. He makes me has a sad)

I'm not finished with this little guy yet though. At the NG London meetup in January I'm hoping to add Luis and The-Swain as well as a few other Flash authors to the roster. There are others I'd love on there, but I think my chances of meeting them are slim such as Tyler Glaiel and Bomtoons.

After I'm done I'm going to be presenting it to my regular artist nqkoi1 as a Huuge thanks for all the stuff he's done for me.
Then one day if he's ever bored of it, he's hinted at some kind of charity auction for the Childsplay charity. This of course is up to him.

If you saw this little guy up for auction, would you guys bid on it for charity? I wonder if it would make any money for a good cause.

In other news, the game I've just finsihed with Dim of the Super flash bros is on the portal right now. PLAY AND VOTE 5 HERE!!!

Well you'll have to work for it then!
But it's ok, cash prizes on offer
I'm not writing it all out again, so visit

To read the details.

PS, My next game is going to be great :D

Edit: Oh yeah, and where the heck does Tom get the time to program stuff like Madness Regent in between his Behemoth programming duties? That game is quality.
Happy Madness Day!
